| Abstract: | Данная статья посвящена анализу способов перевода диминутивов с русского языка на китайский. На материале повести В. П. Катаева «Сын полка» и романа Н. А. Островского «Как закалялась сталь» и их переводов на китайский язык выявлены две главные стратегии, которым следуют переводчики: замена производных диминутивных форм на их нейтральные производящие единицы, использование 小 xiǎo ‘маленький’. Это в принципе соответствует общим тенденциям перевода диминутивности с русского на славянские, германские и другие языки и приводит в итоге к некоторой потере в переводном тексте эмоционального фона, присущего оригиналу. | Description: | Kharitonchik Z. A., Yang Li. On the Translation of Russian Diminutives into Chinese. The article is centred on the analysis of ways of translating diminutives from Russian into Chinese. On the basis of the short novel “Son of the Regiment” by V.P. Kataev and the novel How the Steel was Tempered by N.A. Ostrovsky and their translations into Chinese two major tendencies which the translators follow have been revealed: substitution of derived diminutive forms by their neutral underlying bases and the use of 小 xiǎo ‘little’. They correlate in principle with general tendencies of translating diminutives from Russian into Slavic, Germanic and other languages and result in some loss in the translation of emotionality of the original text.
