| Description: | Gurochkina A. G. Cognitive structures and their correlation with language units. The paper deals with different approaches to the notion of “cognitive structure” putting special emphasis on the ideas of biocognitive linguistics concerning mechanisms of semiosis in living systems. It states the fact that as a cognitive phenomenon, the meaning of linguistic sign presents a certain associative potential that is basically a person’s memory of the previous uses of a particular sign. Key words: meaning; mind; interaction; semiosis. |
