| Abstract: | Данная статья посвящена жанровым особенностям романа Дэвида Митчелла «Лужок Черного Лебедя». В работе подчеркивается жанровая многогранность романа, влияние биографии автора на сюжет и персонажей произведения, а также демонстрируются элементы реальной жизни автора, которые стали основой для вымышленного мира романа. Ключевым аспектом является анализ изменения образа главного героя, Джейсона Тейлора, в контексте его личных конфликтов, стремлений и социокультурных изменений в окружающем мире, включая политические события периода правления Маргарет Тэтчер. Автор также освещает сложность внутреннего мира главного персонажа, выявляя ключевые моменты и темы, такие как процесс взросления, непонимание окружающих и стремление к самопознанию. | Description: | Eliseeva, S. G. This article deals with the genre features of David Mitchell’s novel «Black Swan Green». The paper emphasises the genre versatility of the novel, the influence of the author's biography on the plot and characters of the work, and demonstrates the elements of the author’s real life that became the basis for the fictional world of the novel. The key aspect is the analysis of the changing image of the main character, Jason Taylor, in the context of his personal conflicts, ambitions and socio-cultural changes in the surrounding world, including the political events of Margaret Thatcher’s period of government. The author also highlights the complexity of the main character’s inner world by identifying key moments and themes such as the process of growing up, the misunderstanding of others and the desire for self-discovery. Key words: genre; bildungsroman; semi-autobiographical novel, historical novel. |
