| Abstract: | В статье рассматриваются артикуляционно-акустические характеристики английских дифтонгов. Результаты указывают на наличие дифференциации в собственной длительности разных дифтонгов, которая, прежде всего, зависит от направления артикуляционного жеста. В работе описываются особенности трех стадий реализации дифтонгов, выделяются характеристики, обеспечивающие боʹльшую выделенность первого элемента. Даются рекомендации относительно освоения английских дифтонгов в условиях академического билингвизма. Ключевые слова: вокалическая система; вокалический элемент; дифтонг; формантные характеристики; стадии артикуляции. |
| Description: | Yaskevich V. V. Peculiarities of the Realization of English Diphthongs in the Conditions of Belarusian-English Bilingualism. The article deals with the articulatory-acoustic characteristics of English diphthongs. The results indicate the presence of differentiation in the proper duration of different diphthongs, which, primarily, depends on the direction of the articulatory gesture. The paper describes the features of the three stages in the realization of diphthongs and highlights the characteristics that ensure greater emphasis on the first element. Recommendations are given regarding acquisition of English diphthongs in the conditions of academic bilingualism.
