| Abstract: | В работе проводится анализ каузативных конструкций с глаголами критики и стыда в современном английском языке. На основе словарных данных, а именно дефиниций исследуемых глаголов, обнаружены особенности их структурирования, учет которых позволил распределить глаголы в подгруппы в рамках одной лексической группы. Компонентный состав ситуаций, в свою очередь, был выявлен через анализ семантических характеристик анализируемых глаголов. Ключевые слова: глагол; каузативная конструкция; ситуация; лексическая единица; лексико-семантическая группа. |
| Description: | Belanovich Y. Semantics and Syntax of Causative Constructions with the Verbs Meaning ‘to Criticize’ and ‘to Shame’ in Modern English. The research shows the result of the analysis of causative constructions with the verbs meaning criticism and shame in modem English. On the basis of the dictionary data, namely the definitions of the studied verbs, the peculiarities of their structuring were found, which in its turn made it possible to distribute the verbs into subgroups within the same lexical group. The analysis of the semantic characteristics of the verbs made it possible to identify the components of the situations implemented by these verbs. Key words: verb; causative construction; situation; lexical unit; lexical semantic group. |
