| Abstract: | В статье представлена краткая история китайско-американской литературы, анализируется концепция «американской мечты» в творчестве американских писателей китайского происхождения разных поколений, ее интерпретация и развитие этой темы в их произведениях таких жанров, как публицистическая заметка, автобиография, семейно-бытовой роман, научно-фантастический рассказ. Особо выделяется связь между осуществлением «американской мечты» и процессом самоидентификации, что является важным компонентом идентичности американцев китайского происхождения. Значительное место в творчестве писателей этой группы занимают женские авторы. |
| Description: | Yao Yuan. The Conception of “American Dream” in the Minds of Chinese Americans Writers. The article gives a short outline of the history of Chinese American literature, analyzes the concept of the "American Dream" in the works of Chinese-American writers of different generations, its interpretation and development in such genres as the publicistic article, autobiography, family novel, and sci-fi short story. A special focus is made of the connection between the realization of the American Dream and the process of self-identification that is a major component of Chinese Americans’ identity. Female authors take a significant place among the writers of this ethnic group. |
