| Abstract: | Статья посвящена выявлению семантических свойств ядерного сочинительного союза mais ‘но’ в период среднефранцузского языка при неосложненном соединении компонентов. Выявляются критерии дифференциации двух типов противительных отношений: собственно противопоставления и противопоставления «вопреки ожиданию». Устанавливаются особенности реализации модели P mais Q как на уровне простого, так и на уровне сложного предложения. Определяются способы конкретизации противительных отношений: использование наречий уточняющего характера, расширение второго сочиненного компонента, наличие различных показателей (эпистемических, эвиденциальных, истинностных). |
| Description: | Auseichyk Y. Differentiation of Adversative Relations in the Semantics of the Conjunction mais ‘but’ (Diachronic Aspect). The article is devoted to the identification of the semantic properties of the nuclear conjunction mais ‘but’ in the Middle French language with an non-complex combination of units. The paper identifies the criteria of differentiation of two types of adversative relations – opposition only and opposition of “contrary to expectations”. The specifics of the implementation of the “P mais Q” model are established both at the level of a simple and a complex sentence. The methods of concretizing adversative relations are determined: the use of adverbs, the expansion of the second combined unit, the presence of various indicators (epistemic, evidential, truthful). |
