| Abstract: | В статье рассматривается проблема художественного воплощения культурно-исторической памяти в прозе Марка Слоуки (1958) – известного американского писателя чешского происхождения. Культурно-историческая память подчеркивает значимость перекличек между Старым и Новым Светом и является ключевым феноменом в сборнике рассказов «Потерянное озеро» (Lost Lake, 1998). В произведении «Изгнание» (Exile) акцентируется значимость этнического опыта и гибридной культурной идентичности через художественную репрезентацию процессов ассимиляции, индивидуализации, американизации, социальной и языковой адаптации. Подчеркивается важность синтеза документального и художественного, а специфика культурно-¬исторической памяти выявляется через образно-символическую систему, архетипы, а также через концептуальные сферы (например, эмиграция, ассимиляция аккультурация). |
| Description: | Pervushina L. V. Artistic Representation of Historical Memory in the Fiction of M. Slouka: Emigration, Identity and Cultural Practice. The paper deals with the problem of cultural and historical memory in the fiction by Mark Slouka (1958) a well-known American-born writer of Czech origin who belongs to the second generation of emigrants. The phenomenon of cultural and historical memory becomes the central notion in the collection of stories Lost Lake (1998). The traces of cultural and historical memory in the story Exile are represented with the help of the system of images, symbols and archetypes, as well as through the conceptual fields (emigration, assimilation, and cultural adaptation). The literary material is analyzed through the synthesis of the artistic and the documentary components. The autobiographical fiction by Slouka contributes to the multicultural American literature and raises important interconnected problems of exile, emigration, and homeland. |
