| Abstract: | У артыкуле разгледжаны асноўныя этапы фарміравання старабеларускай мовы ў перыяд існавання Вялікага Княства Літоўскага. Літаратурная і афіцыйная мова пасля забароны яе выкарыстання ў дзяржаўных дакументах і справаводстве (1696) засталася сродкам камунікатыўных зносін беларускага сялянства і гарадскіх нізоў. Уключэнне Беларусі ў склад Расіі паскорыла працэс распрацоўкі кадыфікаванай літаратурнай формы мовы тытульнай нацыі як важнейшага складніка будучай беларускай дзяржаўнасці. | Description: | Doroshchenok P. The article examines the main stages of the formation of the Old Belarusian language during the existence of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. After the prohibition of its use in state documents and office work (1696), the literary and official language remained a means of communicative communication between the Belarusian peasantry and the urban lower classes. The incorporation of Belarus into Russia accelerated the process of developing a codified literary form of the language of the titular nation as an essential component of the future Belarusian statehood.
