| dc.description | Ikonnikava L. Historical Reality and Fiction in the Context of a Literary Work (“The Name of the Rose” by Umberto eco and “Christ Landed in Gorodnya” by Uladzimir Karatkievich). The article concentrates on the understanding of subjectivity and objectivity of history, as well as on the analysis of the correlation of historical reality (historical fact) and fiction within the literary text. The main types of historical cognition are examined. Based on the novels of Umberto Eco and Uladzimir Karatkievich the author of the article reveals the peculiarities of the Italian and Belarusian writers’ approach to the understanding and depiction of a historical fact in a work of fiction.
