| Abstract: | В данной статье рассматривается инаугурационная речь Дональда Трампа, произнесенная им в качестве президента США. Выявляются речевые стратегии и набор репрезентирующих их тактик, раскрываются переводческие трансформации в передаче языковых особенностей выявленных стратегий и тактик. Исследование показало, что в инаугурационной речи Дональда Трампа ведущими выступают стратегии, работающие на положительный имидж политика: стратегия самопрезентации и стратегия дискредитации. Ключевые слова: президент США; политический дискурс; инаугурационная речь; речевые стратегии; речевые тактики; самопрезентация; дискредитация; удержание власти. |
| Description: | Savko D., Karapetova Y. Speech Strategies and Tactics in Donald Trump’s Inauguration Speech and its Translation Specificity. This article examines Donald Trump’s inaugural speech as President of the United States, identifies speech strategies and the variety of tactics, representing these strategies, reveals the translation transformations while rendering the determined strategies and tactics with the help of linguistic means. The study showed that in Donald Trump’s inaugural speech the leading strategies are those that help picture the politician’s positive image: the strategy of selfpresentation and the strategy of discrediting. Key words: US president; political discourse; inaugural speech; speech strategies; speech tactics; self-presentation; discrediting; power retention. |
