The article discusses the problem of studying the national and cultural specifics of linguistic consciousness and methods of its research. The article provides substantiation of the associative approach to the study of concepts as structural units of linguistic consciousness. It presents the results of a comparative analysis of the corresponding concept “Woman” in two linguistic cultures – Russian and American – through the prism of associative experiments conducted among Russians and Americans. A set of common and specific features of the concept “Woman” in the linguistic consciousness of Russians and Americans based on the modeling of the stereotypical core is defined. dc.description.abstractВ статье рассматривается проблема изучения национально-культурной специфики языкового сознания и методов его исследования. Дается обоснование ассоциативного подхода к исследованию концептов как структурных единиц языкового сознания. Представлены результаты сравнительно-сопоставительного анализа одноименных концептов «женщина / woman» в двух лингвокультурах – российской и американской – через призму ассоциативных экспериментов проведенных среди россиян и американцев. На основе моделирования стереотипного ядра выделяется набор общих и специфичных признаков концепта «женщина / woman» в языковом сознании россиян и американцев.
