The article is devoted to the ways of translating the names of the mythological locations of Slavic cultures into English and French. The article points out that when translating, it is necessary not only to formulate the name of the concept in the language of translation, but to convey to the foreign reader the main idea inherent in the name of the mythological location and the work as a whole. The authors come to the conclusion that the names of these countries or lands form the content basis of myths, and then, in the course of the development of society, they become mythologisms, since many writers resort to the plot-motivational construction of artistic reality on the model of a mythological stereotype. The authors propose the use of the term mythological location (from Latin locatio - position, placement) in the meaning of a separate area of a fictional world in which the action of a myth, epic or work of art takes place. dc.description.abstractСтатья посвящена способам перевода наименований мифологических локаций славянских культур на английский и французский языки. В статье указывается, что при переводе необходимо не только сформулировать название понятия на языке перевода, но донести до иностранного читателя основную мысль, заложенную в наименовании мифологической локации и произведения в целом. Авторы приходят к выводу, что названия этих стран или земель составляют содержательную основу мифов, а затем, в ходе развития общества, становятся мифологизмами, так как к сюжетно-мотивационной конструкция художественной реальности по образцу мифологического стереотипа прибегают многие писатели. Авторами предлагается использование термина мифологическая локация (от лат. locatio - положение, размещение) в значении отдельной области вымышленного мира, в которой происходит действие мифа, эпического или художественного произведения.
